UPDATE: Photographs from a recent trip to Krakow, Poland have been added!
Welcome to my gallery, containing most of my work both old and new. I try and update this at least a couple of times a week. I would like to show my work in a gallery so if you think you can accomodate my works, get in touch! All works are available as prints or originals - for more details, including pricing, email me at cbennett_art@hotmail.co.uk.
The following photographs were taken in the AUschwitz/Birkenau Nazi Concentration Camp ruins, about 90 minutes from Krakow. Its a very haunting and humbling place to be and photographs do an impossible injustice to the viewer - you simply have to be there to feel the full extent of the lack of mercy the Nazi's had. There is an engraving on a monument which pretty much sums it up.
FOREVER LET THIS PLACE BE A CRY OF DESPAIR TO ALL HUMANITY, WHERE THE NAZIS MURDERED ABOUT ONE AND A HALF MILLION MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN, MAINLY JEWS FROM VARIOUS COUNTRIES IN EUROPE.
AUSCHWITZ - BIRKENAU 1940-1945.
The following photographs are colour abstractions. I am currently studying the way light can be captured by photographic processes and it's involvement in composition and mood. My work is based on the fusion of sound, image, colour and form - a kind of synaesthesia of the arts. What is important about these photographs is how they communicate. They don't feature anything objective, material - but instead convey the emotions, feelings and thoughts of each individual viewer. Take from these photographs whatever you can imagine, there are no limits. I seek to transcend the traditional and break down boundaries between the creative world. I hope you enjoy them.
Alternatively, you can visit my external portfolio on photo.net. This is a great community of photographers and I have had some wonderfully positive feedback from a host of industry professionals.
These thumbnails are just small parts of my pictures. Try an imagine what the whole thing will look like and then click on it and see!
The following photo's were taken using a Canon EOS 400D [Standard] and a Canon EOS 400D [IR Modified]. I went to Paris recently and took a few photo's while I was visiting.
The following photo's were taken using my new Infrared camera. It's a Canon EOS 400D, but with the permanent conversion to infrared by LifePixel, USA.
The following photo's were taken using a Canon EOS 400D [Standard]. I'm still learning how to take "normal" shots with it and I'm having a great time with it!
The following photo's were taken using my new Infrared camera. It's a Canon EOS 400D, but with the permanent conversion to infrared by LifePixel, USA. These shots are abstractions on themes of form, light and colour. You can see my first ever monochrome abstractions here, which are surpringly difficult to do - when there is no colour you must compensate with form. Most images are altered and tweaked in Adobe Photoshop as the raw Infrared photographs have unusual and often unpleasant colour hues.
Here are some samples of my motion graphic work. Most of it looks into the link between sounds, colours and form. I use Adobe After Effects mostly and I hope to make some analogue animations over the summer break.
APPOLOGIES FOR THE EXTREME LOW QUALITY! I'M WORKING ON GETTING A HIGH-DEFINITION VERSION UP AS SOON AS I CAN.
